The Memory Hole

If you listen to the left long enough, you'll be reminded of that great Orwellian novel, 1984. Every day their rhetoric seems to hearken back to The Ministry of Truth and Winston's way of getting rid of the changes he had just made to history. Down the "memory hole" they would go to be neither known, nor remembered anymore. I'm taken by the fact that no matter what kind of outlandish thing they might say, i.e. "I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it", any of these types of statement make perfect sense to those who commandeer history away in the Ministry of their mind.
Who knows, if the Dems get control of Pennsylvania Avenue next January, we may find ourselves subject to the Ministry of Love, if not also Teddy Kennedy and his Thought Police in an unholy alliance. If that be the case, go ahead and black bag me and..... are we at war with East Asia today, or is it Eurasia? I think I've forgotten. From Oceana, this is the New Reformer.

Party Platform of the Ages--- Do you recognize it?

With a few words deleted others changed, I have reposted a Party platform I found online. Here are the planks. Let me know if you figure out who it belongs to.

1. We demand the union of all people, on the basis of the right of the self-determination of peoples, to form a great country.

2. We demand equality of rights for the people in its dealings with other nations, and abolition of the Peace Treaties of Versailles and St. Germain.

3. We demand land and territory (colonies) for the nourishment of our people and for settling our surplus population.

4. None but members of the nation may be citizens of the State. No alien, therefore, may be a member of the nation.

5. Anyone who is not a citizen of the State may live in this country only as a guest and must be regarded as being subject to the Alien Laws.

6. The right of voting on the leadership and laws of the State is to be enjoyed by the citizens of the State alone. We demand, therefore, that all official positions, of whatever kind, whether in the government, the provinces, or the small communities, shall be held by citizens of the State alone. We oppose the corrupt parliamentary custom of filling posts merely with a view to party considerations, and without reference to character or ability.

7. We demand that the State shall make it its first duty to promote the industry and livelihood of the citizens of the State. If it is not possible to nourish the entire population of the State, foreign national (non-citizens of the State) must be excluded from the country.

8. All further alien immigration must be prevented. We demand that all aliens who entered the country subsequently to a certain date, shall be required forthwith to depart from the country.

9. All citizens of the State shall possess equal rights and duties.

10. It must be the first duty of every citizen of the State to perform mental or physical work. The activities of the individual must not clash with the interests of the whole, but must proceed within the framework of the community and must be for the general good.

We Demand Therefore:

11. Abolition of incomes unearned by work. BREAKING OF THE THRALDOM OF INTEREST.

12. In view of the enormous sacrifice of life and property demanded of a nation by every war, personal enrichment through war must be regarded as a crime against the nation. We demand, therefore, the total confiscation of all war profits.

13. We demand the nationalization of all businesses which have (hitherto) been amalgamated (into trusts).

14. We demand that there shall be profit sharing in the great industries.

15. We demand a generous development of provision for old age.

16. We demand the creation and maintenance of a healthy middle class, immediate communalization of the large department stores and their lease at a low rate to small traders, and that the most careful consideration shall be shown to all small traders in purveying to the State, the provinces, or smaller communities.

17. We demand a land reform suitable to our national requirements, the passing of a law for the confiscation without compensation of land for communal purposes, the abolition of interest on land mortgages, and prohibition of all speculation in land.

18. We demand ruthless war upon all those whose activities are injurious to the common interest. Sordid criminals against the nation, usurers, profiteers, etc., must be punished with death, whatever their creed or race.

19. We demand that the Roman law, which serves the materialistic world order, shall be replaced by a this country's common law.

20. With the aim of opening to every capable and industrious person the possibility of higher education and consequent advancement to leading positions, the State must consider a thorough reconstruction of our national system of education. The curriculum of all educational establishments must be brought into line with the requirements of practical life. Directly the mind begins to develop the schools must aim at teaching the pupil to understand the idea of the State (State sociology). We demand the education of specially gifted children of poor parents, whatever their class or occupation, at the expense of the State.

21. The State must apply itself to raising the standard of health in the nation by protecting mothers and infants, prohibiting child labor, and increasing bodily efficiency by legally obligatory gymnastics and sports, and by extensive support of clubs engaged in the physical training of the young.

22. We demand the abolition of mercenary troops and the formation of a national army.

23. We demand legal warfare against conscious political lies and their dissemination in the press. In order to facilitate the creation of a national press we demand that: (a) all editors, and their co-workers, of newspapers employing the common language must be members of the nation; (b) special permission from the State shall be necessary before non-common language newspapers may appear (these need not necessarily be printed in the common language); ( c ) aliens shall be prohibited by law from participating financially in or influencing newspapers, and the penalty for contravention of the shall be suppression of any such newspaper, and immediate deportation of the alien involved. It must be forbidden to publish newspapers which are damaging to the national welfare. We demand the legal prosecution of all tendencies in art and literature which exert a destructive influence on our national life and the closing of institutions which militate against the above-mentioned requirements.

24. We demand liberty for all religious denominations in the State, so far as they are not a danger to it and do not militate against the moral and ethical feelings of the people. The Party, as such, stands for positive Christianity, but does not bind itself in the matter of creed to any particular confession. It combats the materialist spirit within and without us, and is convinced that our nation can achieve permanent recovery from within only on the principle: THE COMMON INTEREST BEFORE SELF-INTEREST

25. That all the foregoing requirements may be realized we demand the creation of a strong, central national authority; unconditional authority of the central legislative body over the entire country and its organizations in general; and the formation of diets and vocational chambers for the purpose of executing the general laws promulgated by the government in the various States of the Confederation. The leaders of the Party swear to proceed regardless of consequences - if necessary at the sacrifice of their lives - toward the fulfillment of the foregoing Planks.

Do you know where it came from? Take a wild guess. Here's a hint--- I'm sure all you leftists out there think it a fine program.

Run Away

A song comes to mind when thinking about Barack, Ayers, Wright, and Rezko--- "Run Away" by Flock of Seagulls. It seems Mr. Obama has been avoiding his associations with certain unsavory characters for a long time now. No more! He cannot now avoid answering questions about his previous and current associations with a racist, a terrorist and a crook. So now, Obama will run as fast as possible away from these people----if he's smart.
The question is, will he finally denounce these characters or will he continue to be friends with these radicals? The first thing he needs to do is be honest with America and stop lying to us about almost everything. He continues to pull the wool just to gain power for the Marxists and the neo-socialists of his ilk.
Please Mr. Obama be honest with us. You've made the first step by coyly and ever-so-slightly backing away from the wolves. Chances are, though, he will only answer accusations and inundations as they are leveled.

Will John McCain be the nominee?

William J. Bennett & Seth Leibsohn on John McCain & 2008 on National Review Online

Today I am sad that Mitt Romney has suspended his campaign for the White House. Nevertheless, the inevitability of Sen. John McCain is upon the conservative movement. In the above linked article, Bill Bennett persuades me. Though Sen. McCain is not the perfect candidate, as none are, he is right in a lot of the areas that count. Not all areas, mind you, but a lot. take a look at the National Review article and tell me what you think. I wanted Romney to be the next Pres., but I will vote for the Republican nominee, be it John McCain or Mike Huckabee.

What's Next

It seems that McCain has won Florida and 57 delegates to the convention. I guess Medved's happy. In the end I am definitely supporting the nominee, but I wonder, has anyone thought about the fact that we've spent so much time tearing down the GOP guy we don't like, that there may be no mending fences when it comes to defeating the Clintonian machine or Obama's audacity to hope for a change of address to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in November.
Let's hope that when the time comes this fall, conservatives will come vote for the GOP nominee and do what we do best-- conserve the Union.

This Political Season

It seems this season has become one of the most competitive in our nation's history. First, it started 8 months earlier this time around than in times past, and there are more front runners than ever before, partly due to the first point.
My question is "Why?"

It's probably, imho, due to what's been going on for the past 7 years of Pres. Bush's term. It's the economy , the war, immigration, health care, more recently the housing market's tumble back in August.

So what is to be done? Is the solution in government expansion to bail out homeowners who wanted the ARMs and quick refinances? Maybe it's federal subsidies on everything from health care to underwear. Should the feds be tasked with cleaning up after the free market?

NO!!!!!

Let the free market take care of itself.

Here's my plan.
1. Adopt Giuliani's tax reform which has been put before the house by Rep. Dreier.
2. Build the fence on our Southern border from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico.
3. Cut out all earmarks.
4. Change the House and Senate rules that allow amendments to bills which have nothing to do with the text of the bills themselves.
5. Give power back to the people by placing power back in the states concerning domestic affairs.
6. Restrict the federal government to foreign affairs.
7. As the President said last night, consolidate the redundant bureaus in the Federal government. Mitt Romney is on board with this.
8. Keep the Federal judiciary out of state affairs.
9. Drill in ANWR. Why------  http://www.doi.gov/news/030312.htm
